How We Locate
We run two detection methods together, because neither one is enough on its own.
Electromagnetic induction traces conductive services. It is precise on metal pipe, cable and anything carrying a signal, and it can trace a line over distance rather than just finding a point.
Ground penetrating radar finds what has no metal in it. PVC water main, poly gas, clay sewer, fibre conduit, plus voids, tanks and old concrete encasements. Our ground penetrating radar page covers the method in detail.
Where a project needs certainty rather than probability, the service has to be exposed and measured directly. That is Quality Level A under AS 5488, and it is done with non-destructive digging rather than a machine bucket.
